Thank You, Scumbag Steve!

SPOILER ALERT: This post is a long and bitter rant about a certain Scumbag Steve that I know. So be warned!

But before I start my rant, lemme just congratulate myself for being so productive the whole day. (Commence clapping)

Anyway, I was supposed to label this post with "Reality Check, Scumbag Steve!" But then I decided against it when I realized that it was a little defensive and bitter-sounding. And I'm not really sure why I'm blogging about this. (My to-do list is practically screaming at me right. Too much stress! LOL)

I wasn't really going to but I can't help it. Somehow, I need to let it out. I guess because even if my anger already subsided, I'm still feeling indignant about it.

Okay, here it goes....

My friend(let's call her Herpina) and I were walking down the street when she remembered she need to tell me something about Scumbag Steve.

That Derp is definitely a Scumbag Steve!
Never mind that it was too conceited and arrogant for him to say that.
The fact is - we're friends!

So all this time, that's how he see me as - his groupie?!?
So he thinks that I'm still holding the torch for him after all these years?!?
So he thinks that the reason why I've been single for a long time is because I'm painstakingly waiting for him?!?

Just because I'm not dating anyone at the moment means that I'm making myself available only for him! The nerve! Seriously, he can wake up any moment now.
You know it wouldn't be a big deal for me if we're not friends. But we are.
So to learn that he said something like that makes me feel offended and insulted.
So not worthy of my frienship.

Anyway, he can dream all he wants but I know the truth.. heheheh

Never Forgotten: Oldies But Goodies

I was down and out a week ago that I felt like listening to old music. Yes, I love classics. I actually love listening more to songs of the 60's to early 90's than to the songs that I dance to on the dance floor. (But don't tell my friends. Sshhhh!)

I mean, who doesn't? They emit a "feel good" vibe that the songs of today fail to do. It also makes you want to take a trip down memory lane and relive the glorious moments of the past.

So sit back, relax, and get ready to be transported back by these favorite hits.

1. Ain't No Mountain High from the "Sister Act 2"

I love this rendition! And it's currently playing in my YouTube tab as I blog about it. It makes me want to dance. Hahah.

Anyway, the song was already popular even before it was used in the movie. It actually originated from 1967 and recorded by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell. Then, Diana Ross later covered the song twice: as a member of The Supremes and as a solo artist.

2. You Can't Hurry Love by Phil Collins

One simply cannot listen to this song without tapping their feet. (True Story)
Bitch please, I even shake my head sideways when it plays!

Trivia: Already a number-one hit when originally released by The Supremes on 1966, the song dominated the air waves once again when it was rerecorded by Phil Collins sixteen years later.

3. I'm Coming Out

♫♪♫I'm coming out, I want the world to know. Got to let it show, I'm coming out. I want the world to know, I got to let it show. ♫♪♫ -- These lines are my favorite verse of the song. It makes me want to come out of the closet. (LOL)

"I'm Coming Out" was a hit single by Diana Ross in 1980. It was also notable for being the first song usually performed at Ross' performances and concerts since then.

4. Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now

Whenever I hear this Starship song, I'm reminded of the rom-com film "Mannequin." I ♥ that movie. It's a classic! And it was even released on my birth year, 1987. (Yay, me!)

Fun Fact: Kim Cattrall of the "Sex and The City" franchise was the mannequin in the movie. I actually learned about it recently.

5. I Wanna Dance With Somebody

♫♪♫ Oh, wanna dance with somebody, I wanna feel the heat with somebody. Yeah Wanna dance with somebody, with somebody who loves me. ♫♪♫ -- These lyrics make me want to strip naked and dance with..... Wait, what?!?

Oh well, this upbeat song was a hit-single by one of my all-time favorite singers, Whitney Houston, back in 1987. Loves her!

Don't you just love the old days? I know I do. Even if I was a 90's kid, somehow I wish that I grew up in the 80's. Now, if only I could borrow that time machine Michael J. Fox used in "Back To The Future." That would be wicked! Hahah...=P

Productivity Begins Where Procrastination Ends

"Procrastination may result in stress, a sense of guilt and crisis, severe loss of personal productivity, as well as social disapproval for not meeting responsibilities or commitments. These feelings combined may promote further procrastination. While it is regarded as normal for people to procrastinate to some degree, it becomes a problem when it impedes normal functioning." -- Wikipedia

I used to be a procrastinator, a super-mega-uber-chronic procrastinator. I usually put off the things that should be on top of my priority list. I could even go for weeks without doing anything productive. And most of the time, I wasn't even aware that I was procrastinating. The last thing I knew, the clocks striked 12 midnight, and I haven't accomplished any project. Not a single f*ck was given to my priority list. No, sir!
How do I even wind up procrastinating? It always starts like this......

Uhm, excuse the last part. It is a usual scenario in my dreams since my love life at the moment is more like this.....

I know right?

Anyway, back to the topic: I don't even remember the time I started procrastinating. Maybe even before I started working, when I was still in college. I recollect having my term papers done only on the very last minute. I loved cramming to death and pulling an all-nighter just to finish them off. Fortunately for me, I always manage to deliver excellent content despite all the rush.

See? Procrastination isn't that bad, especially if you do it like a boss, noh?
Not by a long shot. The truth is, fooling around may get you through schooling but not in the real world - life after college. This is especially the case if you're a freelancer like me. You see a freelancer can earn a hefty sum of money if they work their ass of. Otherwise, they will find themselves stuck with mind-boggling, piled-up bills to pay (like me.) So a couple of procrastinating months later, I realized that freelancing is not the job for me. Why? I hate doing the same thing over and over again. And I get bored easily. Then the term "internet marketing" came to mind...

I didn't immediately stop procrastinating. It just sort of lessened a little bit. I started being productive again but at a very slow pace. Then a couple of weeks later, reality bitch-slapped me in the face. And boy, was it painful! That's when I knew that I had to stop fooling around and get down to business once and for all. I began to pick up speed. So the last couple of days saw me from being a chronic procrastinator to becoming a busy bee..

I've been a busy bee for only a couple of days. And it felt really great. I finally get to sleep without feeling any guilt that I put my priority list off. How did I do it? All it took was balance; prioritize what needs to be done first and put off the stuff of no importance. It was actually easy, especially if you put your heart into it.

Besides, who doesn't want to be productive, when it can lead you to....

oDesk: Changing How The World Works For Freelancers

"The distribution of talent around the globe has never matched the distribution of jobs." -- Gary Swart, CEO, oDesk Corporation

In tough economic times like these, more and more people are looking for ideal ways to make money. People like me, realize that having a regular, low paying job is not enough to get the pampering you want, let alone cover up those staggering monthly expenses. Most of the times, we find ourselves struggling to make both ends meet. It's not just the way to live the lifestyle we want for ourselves. We get through, yes. But just barely.

Early last year, I've realized what an online job can do for me; how much it can provide for my needs and wants. After getting sick and tired of receiving fixed income regardless of my productivity, I think of ways on making more money. Since I hate boring and routinely jobs, the phrase "How to make Money Online" came to mind. Armed with hope and determination, I immediately search the web for legit ways to make money using the internet as a medium. I stumbled upon e-bay, affiliate marketing, paid surveys, etc. But I had my eyes laid on the words online job. Since there are hundreds of bogus online jobs on the net, I made sure to look for legit ones to start with. So After an hour of searching, a very legitimate website came up: The On Demand Global Workforce - oDesk

So why oDesk?

Why not? With more than $6 million dollars of work performed this month alone, oDesk is the largest marketplace for online work. Period. Why is it that tens of thousands of employers and hundreds of thousands of top professionals choose oDesk?

This is because workers around the world are seeking new ways to leverage their existing talents while gaining flexibility in their lifestyle. They are focusing their skills and seeking jobs that best showcase their particular talents, all while being mindful of the many pitfalls and false promises contractors often face.

So how do you get started?

Simply create an account and follow the video tutorial after sign up. Build an impressive resume to attract prospective employers. There are hundreds of thousands of jobs available. All you have to do is apply for the job suited for you and outbid other contractors to land the position.

The beauty of an online job is that you can work anywhere and even from the comfort of your home with just the aid of an internet connection. You what the secret to online job success is? Consistency. That, coupled with patience and determination. Why? Because you will be encountering hundreds of fellow contractors competing against the job postings. Just remember this, hard work pays off in the end.=)

2012's Rants and Raves Overload

I was busy blogging the other day when I remember the "Rants and Raves" post that I did in my former blog. As I was reading it, I've realized that it's already been a year since then. So much has changed. So many things have happened. So many lessons I've learned. All for the best, though. Anyway, clip notes version, my new "Rants and Raves" post is a lot different from the last. So here it goes....

Rants

1. Procrastination
Why am I ranting about procrastination? I am so guilty of being a chronic procrastinator, that's why! And I totally hate myself for that. It's only until recently that I started doing something about it. Though, I'm already seeing improvements, I still have a long way to go.

2. SOPA and PIPA
"F*CK SOPA, F*CK PIPA!" Who, in the world, wouldn't rant about it? Okay, let me rephrase that. Who, among the internet users, wouldn't rant about it? If those abominable bills will be passed into law, we may as well say goodbye to free knowledge. This means there'll be no Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and a whole lot social media sites. What's worse? You can no longer download or copy any content from sites which have intellectual property rights on it. Unless you want a lawsuit right at your doorstep.

3. Financial Problem
Actually, I shouldn't rant about this since it's my fault why we're having financial problems at the moment. Lazy ass, anyone? Oh well, moving on.....

4. Graft and Corruption
Wait, I think I spelled "government" wrong. Hahah. The local government is so f*cked up, corruption is everywhere - from the barangay officials up to the house of senate. And who knows what the President is really doing behind his desk? Now, don't let me get started on the police enforcement.

5. Destruction of Mother Nature
I may not be a passionate environmentalist but I am an advocate of mother nature. And I simply cannot stand its destruction. Look what it brought upon us in retaliation? Thousands of death due to flash floods. Unnecessary loss of life and desolation of properties. Completely disturbing.=(

I have so many things to blab about but I don't want to come off as whiny so enough with the Rants, let's move on to the.....

Raves

1. Blogging
I just ♥ blogging! Not only am I able to express myself freely, I am also able to reach a humongous market base - the internet. The possibilities that blogging can offer are just plain awesome. Granted, that Blogger won't shut your blog down. Eeep!

2. Damon Salvatore
I used to root for Harry Potter, but then I grew up and met a ridiculously gorgeous BAMF -Damon Salvatore. For me, he's the hottest vampire that ever graced the television screen<<---insert drool here--->>. Those magnetic piercing eyes, so notorious for eye-sexing. And that devilish grin, so hot! Loves him. *sigh* Marry me, Damon!♥

3. Internet Marketing
Seriously, what's not to rave about internet marketing? The results are tremendous. The opportunities are endless. It's like a vast pool of possibilities waiting to be tapped. It's practically overwhelming. Though I'm getting little to no support from everyone I know, I'm confident as hell that I can do this!

4. The Future
Each day, I wake up looking forward to what the future has to offer, of what is in store for me. I may live in the present but I definitely strive for the future. And by the looks of where I am heading to and the rate that I am going, it looks very bright.

5. Losing Weight
The last but not the least in my list. Last year, I raved about having a healthy lifestyle, about being a vegetarian. Turned out, I can't really eliminate meat in my eating habits. I mean, who am I kidding? I love meat! Hahah. Anyway, the healthy lifestyle did pay off. I've lost 40lbs. of weight since then. Though I've already entered the threshold of normal weight, I still need to burn 5-7lbs to achieve my ideal weight. And I'm giving myself two months to completely shed it off.

Life is indeed full of blahs and whatevers, nonstop whining and plaintive cries. But as long as you know how to handle it, everything follows; what the hell, right? Just let it out and enjoy life! So how about you? What are your Rants and Raves? =)

Rage Comics Presents: Burning Love Handles The Groovy Way Part II

And the saga continues...

Meanwhile at Roselle's house...

So, off to Apozaga we went..

Okay, I think we've established by now that we're really bored. Now what?

Then go straight to the point!

Let's light up the dance floor and party like a rock star...

And so the night ends. Hahah. Just kidding. Making a rage comic out of every scene is kinda hard and time-consuming. So let's leave it at that for now.

All in all, it was a great night. I had a blast and I burned a day's worth of calories. Needless to say, I was too spent and too exhausted to work on my articles. And again, it brings us to the age-old question: What else is new?
